Fishing for red drum, aka redfish, with Captain Alex Hughey along in florida’s beatuiful space coast is a second-to-none experience. Most likely your day will start early and you’ll head straight to one of many spots that Captain Alex knows holds these fish depending on the time of year. Often times you’ll see their tails breaking the surface of the water (tailing). This happens because they’re face down in the mud, foraging for crabs, shrimp, and anything else hiding in the mud and grass. Often times oblivious to their surroundings because they’re so focused on eating, it allows the perfect opportunity for you and Capt. Alex to slide in and offer your baits in exchange for an exhilarating battle with one of the Space Coast’s trophy redfish.
